Carafina Pereira is ‘the’ woman behind Martin’s Corner. Thronged by locals and tourists alike; the lady is the fulcrum of the establishment, whose passion for cooking has made this restaurant one of the most sought after eateries in Goa. Named after her late husband, Martin, one gets a feeling of yesteryears past sitting in the warm and cosy restaurant, red checked tablecloths on the tables; the bar like the tavern of old. A must-visit for many celebrities, the walls are adorned with photographs of politicians, sportspersons and actors who have patronised the place. Try the rawa-fried mussels and the crab masala fry. Authenticity to the core, there are no half measures for this lady. For sweet lovers, try the old time favourites – bebinca and caramel pudding.
