The West zone of Pune has long needed a ‘cool’ sort of hangout where the young crowd could enjoy a few quirky cocktails and nibbles and an overall laidback vibe. Hippie@Heart manages to check off all these boxes. Comfortable wooden seats lined with colourful cushions, a few high bar stools, pop culture-inspired imagery splashed on the walls and pretty light fixtures make for the funky décor of the place. I would recommend starting off with a pitcher of bira blanché or one of their desi cocktails (the kairi-nutmeg mojito and Konkan-style long island iced tea are particularly delish), accompanied by a plate of fiery sriracha chicken wings with honey mustard or assorted canapés. For mains, the poached fish with herbs served on a bed of buttered rice is beautifully mellow and wholesome, and the ham-pineapple and chorizo pizzas scrumptious, besides which you could also choose from a range of sandwiches, salads and pastas.
