This is a haven for Chinese food lovers and the whole idea of some good Chinese food starts and ends here. With the ambience that is perfect for all sorts of guests, a good date, a great corporate lunch or a nice family Sunday Brunch: you are all sorted! There is a lot of black and reds that you can see around yourself, it is all the part of the stellar ambience it can be. The service is usually super quick. The food menu and the drinks menu are very well thought about, it all comes together when you order one dish from each category. The dimsums include a varied range of classics with some new and modern-age flavours too. for instance, we have always loved the ‘Basil and Vegetable Dumplings’ but soon the ‘Edamame and Truffle Oil Dumplings’ have taken over the regulars. They are all very well made and the better part is that the regular and large portion sizes is a good indication that you can save a lot of food instead of wasting it, they are also priced marginally different. We highly recommend the 'Eight Treasure Soup' that is totally worthy and it comes with an assortment of eight vegetables with a ginger-garlic broth. The appetizers include the regular 'Chicken and Red meat' or 'Tofu tossed in Hot Garlic Sauce' or 'Black Bean Sauce' and maybe even just the classic 'Stir Fry'. You can see a similar pattern is followed in the mains and large plates as well. We love the ‘Crispy Pan Fried Noodles with Sichuan Sauce’ and you can pair these with any of the curries you love. The portion sizes of the mains are quite massive so make sure you have enough room for sharing the food. The desserts are very simply made and it actually is a good idea to see a lot of inspiration from Coconut, Mango and Dates being used instead of the regular sugar-laden stuff.
Kindly review why they have not offered discount when it is clearly mentioned on the sms & email. I am upset on the same.
At Senapati Bapat road the traffic is a pain point. But the food and service at Mainland China make it worth it. Dimsums Sushi rolls. Superb Tom Yam. Burnt garlic noodles. And brilliant desserts Darsaan and sizzling brownie. Every dish that comes of their kitchen is good. The service aims to please. Always a good choice.
I visited Mainland China for Chinese New year Festival celebrations and they have introduced some new exciting dishes. I had visited their other oultet in Aundh and I really had a great experience there. Their service and staff are really best. Food items I have tried: Mint storm and Virgin mojito: As a welcome drink we were served with Virjin mojito and mint storm. Rich mint flavour made it more rfreshing. Eight tresure chicken soup: It was delicious and combined with 8 different kinds of ingredients including vegetables, Almonds and chicken. A perfect start to a great dinner. Matchstick potato with black pepper: crispy healthy and yummy. It was cut like matchsticks with added black pepper and spices. Pink pepper prawns: Prawns are my favourite and they served it perfectly. Prawns were tossed chillies, celery and pepper. Highly recommend! Japanese wheat noodles: I'm not a great fan noodles but this was something different. It's healthier than normal noodles and I loved it. Mango pudding: So yummy and fresh. I had mango pudding after ages. It was so soft that it melted in my mouth. Loved the texture and presentation. Highly recommended. My visit was totally amazing. Had a great time there. Service was prompt and staff was happy and cooperative.
MAINLAND CHINA has already carved a niche for itself and thats not without a reason. We have been there for a couple of times and have always been very happy to be there again. The staff both at the Reception and the Table is very courteous and helpful. The very fact that the smooth seating process makes you more than comfortable. Being a Vegetarian, did not hamper me from having a taste of the lip smacking Oriental Veg food. The DIMSUMS and SOUP was Yummy. The STARTERS we had CRISPY LOTUS STEM, one of the best we have had in a long time. The Thai Curry , GREEN variant with Burnt Garlic Rice was AWESOME. The CHOCOLATE DOME, as a DESSERT to top it off was just AMAZING. All in all an excellent Family Dinner. Kudos to the Staff...KEEP P THE GOOD WORK and of course the TASTE
The place is good, staff is courteous.. visited for lunch a couple of times and was not disappointed.
Any foodie worth his salt when asked about the best Chinese food in Pune will surely tell you about ‘Mainland China’ at Hadapsar, Pune. This sensational restaurant first created waves in 1995 when Anjan Chatterjee first introduced the restaurant in Sakinaka area in Mumbai. From there the restaurant gained popularity and quickly became a beloved and trusted name for Chinese food. The well decorated and traditional interiors have always been the restaurant’s forte for which it is widely appreciated. You will see a heavy mandarin influence in the décor, clearly visible in the circular entrance and statues of terracotta warriors. Look is clean, elegant and airy. The room is washed in a pleasant glow by the contemporary paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling. Mainland China is a great place to bring your family and friends to spend some quality time over good Chinese food. The service provided by the restaurant is smooth and hassle free. The staff is polite and cordial which adds to the evening’s success.
The dishes are authentically and well prepared. Equal amount of attention is paid to the visual appeal of the dishes so when they come to your table, you will see works of art. The restaurant is only a tiny bit expensive so you can’t afford to drop in every week but for special occasion or monthly dinners it qualifies for a great place. Menu of Mainland China is selective, housing all the best recipes that you hope to find at your favourite Chinese establishment. The homage paid to the dim sums is a must. Dabble in prawn siu mai, vegetable shanghai spring rolls, steamed vegetable wontons and chicken siu mai. As far as the appetizers are concerned you can sample chicken Taipei, aromatic chicken with garlic, konjee crispy lamb, wok tossed potatoes yue yang style and pan fried chilli fish.
Mains section will entice you with so many great choice like crabmeat steamed or braised, spicy fish in a hot pot, roast lamb in mahlak sauce, general Tao’s favourite chicken, pan braised broccoli and tofu with dry red chillies, braised sapo chicken, burnt garlic fish with seasonal greens, crabmeat steamed or braised, exotic vegetables in chilli basil sauce, spicy duck in a hot pot and sliced chicken in oyster sauce. End on a sweet note with brownie with hot chocolate sauce or something more exotic.
