In a space as competitive as Khan Market, sometimes sticking to the basics pays off. Foxtrot, the latest brand by Azure Hospitality, seems to have cracked the formula. It carries over that whacky retro vibe from Sly Granny and makes it even cosier. Foxtrot’s plates are nothing that you have not seen before, but turn out so satisfying that you want to go back. Take the 'Chicken Ghee Roast Taco'. It is not particularly authentic or shatteringly innovative. Just deliciously seasoned and succulent 'Chicken Morsels' on a bite-sized taco garnished with dry coconut slivers and fried curry leaf. The 'Stuffed (mini) Kulchas' seem derivative, but are spot greasy-goodness on with nearly every filling – galauti, three cheese or bacon & blue cheese. Likewise, the 'Lebanese Chicken Skewer' was generically spiced but grilled so beautifully that I barely noticed. 'Goan Shack Prawns' plated up perfectly sautéed prawns and lots of delicious butter-garlic sauce dripped over toasted bread while 'Black Pepper Chicken' was hit with the smack of smokey peppercorns around tender chicken pieces.
